I'm pretty sure nothing official has been said to imply the sword is coming back.

There's a rumor all the old HOD items are going to be craftable again at the HOD crafter. Many people probably panic after hearing this rumor and now they're trying to get some cash for their HOD items before they really do come back.
Even though it would be a good move in my opinion, I don't expect the HOD crafter to craft the old HOD items ever again. |

i think it would balance the game out nicely...since now theyre only available to an elite few.
i say let everyone have them (of course, no heal/prot monks will ever use a wand again when hey can just use the sword + 20% enchant pommel) |

I have noticed a lot of people selling the HoD in game now (or at least trying) and i guess it's due to this rumor doing the rounds. |

It would be a very good way to hike prices.

It is a sword that used to be craftable in the Henge of Denravi. It wasn't max damage or anything, but it came with an inherent +5 energy modifer on it. People bought and used them as a Wand Alternative - you get 5 energy, its modable unlike wands, and you can hold an offhand with it unlike staves. Once all the HoD weapons were removed the Sword got ot be the most popular and expensive. All the weapons that were crafted there had Inherent modifers unique to only them (impossible mods otherwise) - so now their removed they are hot items. |

In my opinion, 95% of the people playing Guild Wars have no idea what the hell they're doing and they're just go along with the crowd. HOD Sword isn't that great at all, there aren't that many builds that really need it, since in most builds (Protection monks for example) it would only be 2 Energy more then a collector's staff with maxed mods. The HOD items aren't that special in my opinion.

My guess is it's people reacting to the outright deletion of the SoA axe. They don't want to get caught with a useless long sword, even if the chances of that happening are only slightly better than the HoD sowrd coming back in the first place.

MMS Dome is just jealous, he cant afford one :P
And from talking to devs/alphas, the general feeling is the Hod Sword is not comming back, so the price should contiue to rise. |

The HoD sword is a piece of GW history --- hence the price. It's great for Bal's Aura users since you chase after enemies when you attack.

Well, if they took an item out of a game, there IS a reason. So, thinking logically, why would they put an -unbalanced- weapon back into the game?
That's like bringing back that SoA axe for no reason tomorrow.. |
